John Glenn Tracy
Born: October 8, 2040
Current age: 28
Position: Space monitor on Thunderbird Five, pilot of Thunderbird ThreeJohn Tracy, third of the Tracy sons, is the "eye in the sky" and mans the communications lifeline of International Rescue: the space station, Thunderbird 5. He is the usually the person who first responds to a cry for help and is instrumental in guiding his earthbound brothers to the danger zone and keeping them in contact with their Island base. Every third month, he spends a month in the space station, then hands off his post to either his brother, Alan, or new recruit, Callie Spencer. Then he pilots the space ship, Thunderbird Three, back down to Tracy Island to join the rest of his family in rescue jobs planetside.
A graduate of Harvard with Bachelor's degrees in both astronomy and languages, and a Master's degree in laser communications, he followed his father's footsteps and became an astronaut. He worked for NASA in various capacities before being tapped for his position in International Rescue. This enabled him to pursue his most favorite subject: astronomy. His work in this field has engendered four books on the subject and the discovery of the Tracy Quasar, along with several other lesser interstellar bodies.
He is considered the quietest and most intellectual of the brothers, and, with his taller, thinner build, the most athletic of them. Some of his favorite sports are cross-country running, racquetball, soccer, and track and field. He is a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction and has a sharp wit. Though he enjoys his time in Thunderbird 5, he sometimes feels cut off from the family and is often frustrated that he cannot help more in rescue missions like his brothers do. Regarding personal relationships, John prefers to start with a friendship before jumping into a romantic relationship. He is the preferred older brother and confidante to Tyler, the youngest of the Tracy children.
