Alan Shepard Tracy
Born: March 12, 2044
Current age: 24
Position: Pilot of Thunderbird Three, space monitor in Thunderbird FiveAlan Tracy, the youngest of the Tracy brothers, is the intrepid pilot of International Rescue's spacefaring rocket, Thunderbird Three. Daring and sometimes reckless, he unwillingly followed in his father's footsteps after a rocket experiment went off course and broke every window at Colorado University. In the aftermath of that debacle, Jeff Tracy decided that only astronaut training would give the young man some sense of responsibility, and he quickly enrolled his rowdy son in a commercial astronaut course. During his days at Colorado U., Alan was more likely to be found on the race track than in class, becoming a champion auto racer at a relatively young age.
Despite his rocky start, Alan has grown to accept the responsibility of International Rescue and has shown great ability as pilot of Thunderbird Three. He shares the duty of space monitor in Thunderbird Five with his brother, John, and newcomer, Callie Spencer, spending every third month on the space station. He shares a strong bond with his next-oldest brother, Gordon, and the two of them are often in cahoots when playing practical jokes. Alan is still very interested in auto racing, occasionally making a foray into the circle with some new innovation from IR's top engineer. He likes to play tennis and to explore the more inaccessible areas of Tracy Island.
Alan is a romantic at heart. He had developed a sweetly romantic relationship with Tin-Tin Kyrano, a relationship he guarded jealously. But he refused to make a commitment to the young lady, stating that his life as an IR operative was too dangerous to share with anyone. This caused an acrimonious parting of the ways between the two, one that has not been resolved. Alan also harbors a secret passion for IR's London agent, Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward, and is hoping that some day she will see him as a man and not as merely the youngest of the original five Tracy sons.
