Tuan Kyrano

The main housekeeper and chief cook for the Tracy family, Kyrano is a man of diverse talents. Son of a wealthy Malaysian plantation owner, he was educated in a peaceful time and gave himself to his twin loves of cuisine and horticulture. Disowned by his father (under the baleful hypnotic influence of his younger half-brother, Belah Gaat), Kyrano made his way to England, where he spent a number of years at the Royal Gardens at Kew, using his skills as a botanist to hybridize various plants and trees, making them more resistant to disease.

During his years there, he developed a versatile, synthetic form of food based on plants and wrote a paper about it. It was this paper that garnered him an invitation to the Kennedy Space Center. And it was here that he met a young, enthusiastic astronaut by the name of Jefferson Tracy. The two became friends, but parted ways when Kyrano returned to his work at Kew.

While in England, he met the young lady who would become his wife. Since her job centered around Europe and especially France, he left his job at Kew and became a chef at the Paris Hilton, rising rapidly to the exalted position of head chef. While in France, he and his wife, Samani, had their first and only child, a beautiful little girl they named Tin-Tin, which is from the Malaysian for "sweet". When Tin-Tin was just a small child, Samani died in a tragic fire, leaving Kyrano to raise his daughter alone. News of the tragedy reached the ears of Jeff Tracy, also recently widowed, and he invited Kyrano and his daughter to live with them with Kyrano taking over the household duties. The plan worked very well; Jeff got the household help he so desperately needed, Kyrano got a stable job with opportunities for his daughter, the Tracy boys got a "little sister" and Tin-Tin inherited five rambunctious "brothers".

Later, as Jeff began preparations for International Rescue, Kyrano fell in with his plans and helped in every way he could. It was about this time that Kyrano began to experience seizures and bouts of time loss. Finally, Jeff called in a neurological specialist, who could find nothing wrong with the Malaysian. Still, fearing that the increased workload of the Island was the cause of the seizures, Jeff called his mother and asked her to join them and take up some of the household duties.

At first, the two were at loggerheads, their styles of cooking and methods of cleaning significantly different. But finally, Kyrano and Mrs. Tracy agreed to divvy up the chores and alternate cooking days, and thus became allies and later, friends. Just recently, it was discovered that Kyrano’s seizures and time loss were caused by the evil influence of his half-brother, Belah Gaat, known by International Rescue as the Hood. Kyrano then began to school his own mind to reject the intrusions by Gaat, eventually coming to the place where he could turn Gaat’s attacks back with ease. Now Gaat can no longer use his mind control to pry the secrets of International Rescue from his older half-brother.

Jeff Tracy values Kyrano, not only as a retainer, but as a friend. If there is one quality that Kyrano has to influence Jeff, it is the ability to show him another path to follow in a given situation, a way of opening up Jeff’s eyes to different perspective. As a result, Jeff listens carefully to Kyrano and his advice when considering upon a course of action.

Kyrano has recently developed a fun and flirty relationship with Dianne Tracy’s mother, Elisabeth "Lisa" Parkhurst, much to the chagrin of Dianne, the delight of Tin-Tin, and the amusement of Jeff. They married in December, 2068, with Lisa taking Kyrano’s surname as her own despite his misgivings.
