Frequently Asked Questions

Are these really frequently asked questions? Well, a few are. But more are answers to things our players thought you'd want to know. Except for this one; it's definitely a FAQ. Click on the question to find the answer.

What does F-A-B mean?

Now that we have that out of the way...

The light blue color means the information is canon. Canon includes the show, the first two movies, the authorized materials (see below), and, on occasion, the comic books.
The yellow means the information is fanon peculiar to this site.

Throughout the FAQs, you'll see references to the names "Marriott", "Bentley", and "Bleathman". These are the authors of books that are considered reference materials for the show. It's important that we give credit where credit is due, so here's a bibliography of the books and magazines involved.

Our thanks to Lisa Bauer, Jill Coombs, Dena Lawless, and Christine Shultz for suggested FAQs. If you have any other questions for us, please email Dianne. We'll try to answer and add them as quickly as possible.

What does F-A-B mean?

Really, it means nothing. It's just a way for the International Rescue personnel to acknowledge instructions, as a military pilot would say "Roger". It comes from the popular 1960s term, "fabulous". It was later retconned to mean “Fully Advised and Briefed”.

In our RP, it actually has a different underlying meaning, one used first by fanfiction writer Math Girl in her story, Inception. It is taken from a favorite line by Virgil "Gus" Grissom, one he uttered to indicate agreement with a statement: "F--kin' A, Bubba". "F-A-B" would be a more broadcast friendly acronym.

We are using it, with her kind permission, to indicate understanding of instructions or communications.
