As I announced in the email I sent to the players, I feel it may be time for our role play to take a hiatus. It's been going for over five years now, which is a long time as role plays go.
I've started this thread for discussing the idea, particularly from the players' POV. Input from our other members and readers is also welcome, though it is the input we get from the players that will determine the ultimate decision.
An excerpt from the email that explains how I feel:
Quote:"Everyone is busy, whether it's with school or work or just plain life in general. When there is a conflict, everyone brings it to me to solve, instead of talking politely and calmly with each other. People aren't carefully reading what has been posted before writing their own stuff, and when something comes up where edits have to be made, there's complaining about that. Despite our recent push to have Liz and Rain do more betaing, I'm still the one who gets the lion's share of that work--and my betas have been less than stellar lately. I'm the one who knows what's going on, the one who keeps all the plates spinning, and I'm finding that the plates are beginning to drop more and more."
So, how do you feel about a possible hiatus? Should we do it? If so, how long? Where should we go when we return? Should we push time forward? Restart the whole RP? What do you think?

Maybe a hiatus would work, so it could help all our engines start up again. As for how we should do things, I say move time forward. After all, we've been in 2068 for nearly five years! I feel bad for Dianne because she does feel like she's carrying the brunt of the load. Now, I'll admit when it comes to plot, I'm not as sound there. Grammar and spelling, on the other hand, I'm very strong in. I could do basic grammatical and spelling checks for posts, if that would help anyone. What do you think?
BTW, I do understand about the different British spellings. Smile

I'm quite happy with a hiatus; I'm finishing my schooling and trying to get my driver's license, which is taking up a lot of my time.
Do a reboot? Actually, yes, I think that would be a good idea. I'm not sure why exactly though.
For my part, I've been grumbling to myself about Jenny, wishing I'd made her more challenging, because I find myself struggling to find something worthwhile to write about. And I'm shy of writing about the canon, in case I tread on someone else's toes.
If we do a reboot though, can the RP go faster? For instance, if nothing much is happening with the characters, then we simply skip to the next major event and perhaps give a quick rundown on anything minor that happened during the time we skipped.
